About Shenandoah National Park

Shenandoah National Park protects nearly 200,000 acres of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. The park is famous for Skyline Drive, a 105-mile scenic road that runs the entire length of the park along the crest of the mountains. With over 500 miles of trails, including 101 miles of the Appalachian Trail, the park offers everything from easy strolls to challenging scrambles. In fall, the hardwood forests erupt in brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows.
