About Arches National Park

Arches National Park preserves over 2,000 natural stone arches, the highest concentration of such formations in the world. The park's iconic red rock landscape was created by 300 million years of geological events, including the deposition of ancient sea sediments and the subsequent erosion that carved the arches, spires, and balanced rocks we see today. The signature Delicate Arch, standing 52 feet tall, has become the symbol of Utah. The park also contains numerous towering pinnacles, massive fins, and giant balanced rocks.
