About Isle Royale National Park

Isle Royale National Park encompasses a 45-mile-long island in Lake Superior and its surrounding archipelago. The park is one of the least visited in the system, receiving fewer visitors annually than Yellowstone gets in a single day. This isolation has made it the site of the world's longest-running predator-prey study, tracking the relationship between wolves and moose since 1958. The park closes entirely in winter and is accessible only by boat or seaplane.
