About Biscayne National Park

Biscayne National Park is unique in that 95% of its 173,000 acres are underwater. The park protects Biscayne Bay, a portion of the world's third-largest coral reef, and the northernmost keys in the Florida island chain. The transition from mangrove shoreline to coral reef creates one of the most diverse marine ecosystems in North America. The park can only be fully experienced by boat, making it ideal for snorkeling, diving, and kayaking.
