About Kings Canyon National Park
Kings Canyon National Park protects two enormous wilderness areas separated by a corridor of national forest. The park features one of the deepest canyons in North America (deeper in places than the Grand Canyon), carved by the Kings River through granite walls. Grant Grove is home to the General Grant Tree, the world's third-largest tree and the only living thing designated a National Shrine. The park is often managed and visited jointly with adjacent Sequoia National Park.
