About Saguaro National Park
Saguaro National Park protects vast stands of the giant saguaro cactus, the universal symbol of the American Southwest. Found only in the Sonoran Desert, saguaros can grow over 50 feet tall and live more than 200 years. The park's two districts, east and west of Tucson, protect nearly 2 million saguaros along with diverse Sonoran Desert and mountain sky island ecosystems. Signal Hill features 800-year-old petroglyphs left by the Hohokam people.
