About National Park of American Samoa
The National Park of American Samoa is the only US national park in the Southern Hemisphere, spread across three volcanic islands in the South Pacific. The park protects paleotropical rainforest, pristine coral reefs, and the ancient Samoan culture that dates back 3,000 years. Giant flying foxes (fruit bats) roost in the rainforest canopy, while sea turtles and tropical fish inhabit the surrounding reefs. The park's homestay program allows visitors to stay with local families and experience traditional Samoan life.
